DAVID B. TARR: I practice law exclusively in the field of criminal defense. I represent people who are charged with crimes as small as a parking ticket up to murder. We offer free consultations. My office is located conveniently right in the heart of downtown Columbia in Richland County. But I also travel to any other county in the state where my services may be needed. I will absolutely take a case to trial if it's necessary. And the ability and the experience that I have in going to trial is an asset. If an attorney is not able and willing and ready to go to trial, it's a lot harder to work something out that's satisfactory to the client. In my firm, I like to take a personal approach. I like to represent my clients as if they were a family member or close friend because they need someone who is going to be there for them when it seems like everybody's against them. I do whatever it takes ethically to protect their rights and to make sure that they receive the best possible outcome in their case.
